I t was a bright early morning on December 14 when we all travelled a long way from different places to gather at the assembly point to start our much-excited annual event, Beinex Moonshot. Beinexians dropped in one by one: the first timers quite anxious about meeting their team members for the first time, the virtual buddies who've been longing to connect, the cool gang with big plans for the event, and the coordinators who must manage their tasks as well. There were many hellos among team members, and there was excitement in identifying colleagues by their profile pictures on Teams and meeting new people. The time before the buses started from the assembly point was truly an ice-breaking session, making the journey easier.

The journey to the Beinex Moonshot venue, Saptha Resort in Wayanad, was almost four hours from the assembly point. Had it not been for the transformation of buses into dance boxes, the travel would have been quite dull. By the time we reached the resort, our WhatsApp group was flooded with posts, making it look like some competition, deciding which bus had the most fun. Thanks to the fun, which did not make us feel the tediousness of the journey.

We were given a traditional welcome at the resort, which, by the way, was an incredible place. After meeting our cool executive management members, we proceeded to our allotted rooms to unload our bags and freshen up for the day.

We began our Day 1 with the buffet that unfolded like a vibrant tapestry of gastronomic delights, and laughter and conversation flowed, creating a joyous communal dining atmosphere. The networking continued while we explored different spots in the resort, which made us realise we had a lot in store there. However, an official inauguration of the event was essential.

Beinex Moonshot began with insightful sessions by Indumon Das on the growth of Beinex and his plans for the future. The meeting became more of a happy conversation when he completely drifted from the stereotypical discourse and talked to the crowd as if one would make a casual talk to a person. The Beinex Excelencia Awards 2023 followed the meeting, acknowledging and celebrating the best performers and teams. Unsurprisingly, it sounds quite like the Beinex culture, where everything is about making work and life easier, hitting the perfect balance.

The end of the official functions signalled the arrival of something big that was sure to unleash the party animal in all of us. As we entered the hall in our costumes for the 90s-themed party, Go Old School, we saw the stage set as an animated canvas of light and sound. The air in the hall whispered that we should buckle up to rock the stage. The stage was set on fire by Street Academics, an Indian alternative hip-hop group from Kerala. The 90s flair and Street Academics swag had us grooving and moving with their exhilarating performance. We partied like it was 1990.

Surprisingly, it did not end the Day 1 magic as we had a DJ Night by Six Eight to pep up our 90s party. We moved to the pulsating beats of an electrifying DJ night by Six Eight. And that was Day 1 in a nutshell!

Our plans for Day 2 were quite huge. We scheduled an outing to three different destinations, including a wildlife safari, a sunrise plantation walk and a visit to Edakkal Caves. The 90s party was so lit that most of us couldn't make it to the outing as we were busy resting and saving energy for the neon-themed party. However, some of us explored the destinations and left no stone unturned while on Beinex Moonshot.

Day 2 was more relaxed, with some engaged in the activity areas, some playing in the infinity pool, some just gazing at the view of the fields, and some involved in work-related talks. As the day faded into the evening, our spirits energised for it. We went to the hall again, but this time, it was to watch and cheer the performance of our colleagues. From music to dance to fashion shows, Beinexians embraced the moment and owned the stage, leaving us in awe. The stage reopened the doors to flaunt our talents after our college days.

The performance and the cheering did not drain our energy for the day. We dressed in our UV glow dresses, masks and paints for Neon Bash. Our costumes made us look like we were bathed in a kaleidoscope of vibrant lights. We were set to action for the DJ Night by Utmozt to hit the nitro button and dazzle in the UV glow attire. The atmosphere was electric, and the stage served as the epicentre of this sensory spectacle. And that's how wrapped up the electrifying day

The two days of Beinex Moonshot were as quick as a flash. We did not expect to see it end faster than we thought. The event was a platform for connecting and building rapport with the team members, which it truly did. As we bid farewell to our colleagues and the resort, we were happy that it happened, and we also hoped for yet another event to get back together and have fun.

Besides being a celebratory event, Beinex Moonshot has reflected our work culture, bringing a fresh perspective on meaningful work, and making life meaningful. Taking a break lets us relax and come back more focused and determined. Beinex Moonshot was more than a break!
